Capacitor Bank Panel
(APFC)

APFC Panel | Power Factor Correction & Reactive Power Compensation

Specialized design and manufacturing of automatic capacitor bank panels for
power factor correction, reactive power compensation, and reduction of reactive current
in industrial power grids.
From capacitor capacity calculations and design
to regulator selection, capacitor contactor, protection equipment,
ventilation system, assembly, testing, and commissioning,
tailored to the requirements of each project.

What is an APFC Panel?

Automatic Capacitor Bank Panel

A Capacitor Bank panel or
Automatic Power Factor Correction Panel
is designed and manufactured to compensate for reactive power and correct the power factor in electrical networks.

In this panel, several capacitor steps are automatically controlled by a power factor regulator. The regulator measures network conditions and connects or disconnects appropriate capacitor steps to maintain the power factor within the target range.

In addition to capacitors and the regulator, the APFC panel includes capacitor contactors, circuit breakers, fuses, reactors (if needed), measurement equipment, ventilation systems, and necessary accessories for safe and stable operation.

Main Functions of APFC Panels

Power Factor Correction

Compensating reactive power and helping to improve the network power factor.

Reactive Power Compensation

Supplying a portion of the reactive power required by inductive loads.

Reduction of Reactive Current

Reducing the current required from the grid to supply reactive power.

Automatic Step Management

Automatic connection/disconnection of steps based on real-time network load.

Advantages of Using Capacitor Bank Panels

Proper use of a capacitor bank provides more economical and reliable network operation
by compensating for reactive power and reducing currents.

Power Factor Improvement

Helping to correct the power factor and reduce reactive power share.

Reduced Grid Current

Reactive power compensation helps reduce the grid’s required current flow.

Reactive Power Reduction

Supplying reactive power locally to inductive loads.

Automatic Control

Automatic management of capacitor steps based on real-time load changes.
